Sean Hannity
Monday - Friday: 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Sean Hannity is a media superstar. The reigning king of afternoon drive Talk radio in New York is also host of the highly successful Fox News Channel's "Hannity and Colmes." The gutsy talk show host always lands on the right side of the issues. Hannity got his start in commercial radio after drawing attention and enthusiasm from his college radio station. He placed a "Job Wanted" ad in R&R, billing himself as "The most talked about college radio host in America." A station in Huntsville, Alabama, took a chance on the brash young voice. The world of Talk radio would never be the same.
The Sean Hannity show is an outlet for moral and conservative listeners who are tired with the shock jocks of radio. Hannity has no fear to tread upon the moral issues that most mainstream media refrains from. And this makes The Sean Hannity show one of the most unique radio talk shows on the airwaves.
Hannity has been a conservative from the beginning. The youngest of four children with strong Irish Catholic roots, he was raised in a home where right and wrong had a fixed line and his conscience kept him in check. But like all teenagers, Hannity went through a period of rebellion. He would stay up late tuning in to the AM dial to catch talk shows like Barry Farber and Bob Grant. Much of his ideology was shaped by these shows.
It wasn't until 1987 that Hannity made a call that would change the course of his life. He began a regular routine of call-ins to a Santa Barbara, California talk show. He found an outlet for his views and challenged the host and fellow listeners alike. He then started his own show at a Santa Barbara college radio station. He lasted 40 hours of on-air time.
About a year later he moved on to Huntsville, Al at WVNN and co-hosted a morning debate show and in the afternoons had his own call-in program. Soon, WGST in Atlanta was knocking on his door and asked him to move in for a morning call-in show, which he did in 1992.
In 1996, WABC in New York City invited him to continue his career. The Sean Hannity show was a success. The same year Hannity was part of the effort to launch the Fox News Channel and became co-host of Hannity & Colmes, a current issue debate show.
It is due to his unwavering morals and conservative views Hannity has won the hearts of millions. When his mother passed away, he openly contributed his healing to the help of his faith. His family is the most precious thing to him and has plays a very active role as a husband and father, even if that means getting only a handful of hours of sleep each night.
Most importantly to Sean, he feels that God has given him these opportunities and he believes in his faith to carry him along to the end.
